The official launch of the XR Terminal Technology Joint Laboratory, a significant national-level initiative by Emdoor Information, occurred on January 21 at Emdoor Building. This grand opening ceremony formalized a strategic alliance between Emdoor Information and the National Virtual Reality Innovation Center, China’s sole nationally approved innovation center for virtual reality. Emdoor Information Chairman Zhang Zhiyu, Emdoor VR General Manager Shi Qing, and NVRIC Chief Scientist Dr. Huo Yingdong attended. Mr. Shi Qing and Dr. Huo Yingdong presided over the ceremony, with Mr. Shi Qing outlining the collaboration’s vision: to explore the vast potential of future XR terminal technology and drive industry momentum by integrating advanced technology into a wider range of products.

The Joint Laboratory represents a strategic integration of research and industrial capabilities within the XR domain, designed to accelerate market alignment and foster innovation. This partnership will drive the establishment of high-quality national XR standards, facilitate the development and sharing of critical research and experimental resources, and unlock significant commercial potential. Leveraging both entities’ strong XR technology backgrounds and product development expertise, the lab will advance cutting-edge XR technology development and implementation in Shenzhen, a leading hub for intelligent terminals. Its work will validate and optimize XR research directions, benefiting the industry, the nation, and its citizens.

A New Era of Technological Advancements
Located on the 5th floor of Emdoor Building, the 2100-square-meter Joint Laboratory is equipped with over 220 sets of experimental testing equipment. This facility will support Emdoor and its subsidiaries in various experimental testing tasks, heralding a new era of technological advancements.
Beyond R&D support for terminal technology innovation, the facility enhances supply chain reliability. It conducts standardized sampling inspections of materials and ordered products pre-delivery, ensuring high-quality and safe products for customers.




The Joint Laboratory encompasses a diverse suite of specialized labs, including Environmental Reliability, OTA Darkroom, Optical Darkroom, ESD Testing, XR R&D, Quiet Reverberation Room, CE Testing, RF Shielded Room, Comprehensive Lab, Near-Eye Display, Optical, Display Module Test, and Imaging & Display. This extensive setup, covering hardware, software, theory, and practice, establishes a comprehensive and robust research and experimental platform.
As terminal technology evolves from physical to virtual, and from 5G to AI, innovation continues to integrate seamlessly into daily life. The Joint Laboratory’s collaborative operation and shared resources will enable Emdoor to accelerate product R&D and enhancement, delivering more abundant, secure, and advanced XR terminal products.
