CIIF 2026 industrial computing discussions bring a practical question into focus: how should production workstations, warehouse vehicles and AI processing nodes exchange information? Selecting a device for each location is only part of the task. The complete system must preserve job status, make exceptions visible and recover predictably when a connection fails.
Emdoor and ONERugged’s showcase at the 26th China International Industry Fair runs from October 12 to 16, 2026, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, Booth 6.1H-A015. The reported portfolio includes rugged AI PCs, industrial tablets and handhelds, alongside production-line MES and vehicle-mounted computing solutions.
Read the showcase as a connected factory architecture
For an industrial PC project, the exhibition is a starting point for defining the responsibilities of each computing endpoint. A fixed operator interface, a mobile data-capture device and an AI node can support the same production process while serving different functions.
| Endpoint | Factory role | Integration question |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed HMI or MES station | Work instructions, job confirmation and production entry | Which system owns the current work-order state? |
| Warehouse vehicle terminal | Task dispatch and material movement records | How are interrupted or duplicate transactions handled? |
| Mobile inspection device | Asset identification and observations at the point of work | How does an inspection result reach the right production record? |
| Edge AI processing node | Qualified inference or data-processing workload | Where is the result reviewed and acted upon? |
Turn an MES demonstration into a station specification
Before choosing a panel PC, identify the application screens, required input devices and connections to equipment. Include operator authentication, barcode entry, label printing and the procedure for correcting a mistaken transaction. Document whether communication is through a local service, a browser application or another supported interface.
Build a sample station using the intended mounting arrangement and production peripherals. Check visibility, touch operation, cable access and response under the full software load. Ask operations staff to run their real sequence, including changeover and a partially completed order.
Connect warehouse movement to production status
A forklift terminal may present a material request that originated on the factory floor. Define how dispatch, collection and delivery are acknowledged, and how the system distinguishes a repeated message from a new task. Test the route through the actual wireless environment with the intended vehicle power and mounting configuration.
Review Emdoor IPC vehicle computing options as part of this architecture. Final radio configuration, interfaces and installation requirements should be confirmed for the selected model.
Evaluate AI performance at the application level
The original CIIF report describes platform-level AI performance across several devices and explicitly distinguishes those figures from NPU-only performance. Treat headline computing figures as context for a test plan. Establish which processing engine and software runtime will execute the selected model.
Measure the full task from input acquisition to an operator-visible result. Include preprocessing, data transfer, inference and application response, along with sustained thermal behavior. Decide how the workflow handles uncertain results and when a person must review them.
Prepare a useful technical discussion
- Bring a workstation or vehicle layout and the proposed mounting dimensions.
- List the equipment protocols, peripherals and software versions.
- Provide the expected data rate and any model or inference requirements.
- Define recovery targets for power loss, network interruption and device replacement.
- Identify the pilot site and the people responsible for acceptance.
